Wenn ich mit dem Auto ins Geschäft fahre, laufe ich noch durch einen kleinen Park an dem direkt zwei Schulen liegen. Heute morgen sah ich spielende Schulkinder am Ende des Parks. Als ich mich den Kindern näherte sah ich auch mit was sie spielten. Sie hatten einen Heidenspaß daran, einen Mann der regungslos auf dem Rasen lag, mit Stöcken und Steinen zu bewerfen.

Teilnahmlos liefen "erwachsene" Passanten an diesem Schauspiel vorbei. Eine Frau auf dem Fahrrad beendete die Aktion und stauchte die Kinder zusammen, während ich zu dem Mann ging und ihn ansprach. Er hat wohl nur einen Rausch ausgeschlafen. Die Kinder rannten lachend davon...

Weltweit genießt es einen geradezu sagenhaften Ruf: Das streng von der Außenwelt abgeschirmte Porsche-Entwicklungszentrum in Weissach hat schon für so ziemlich jeden Automobil-Hersteller gearbeitet. Doch für wen und was ist Betriebsgeheimnis.

Genau. Niemand soll wissen, daß der Opel Zafira eine Porsche ist.

Also, bleibt geheim.

Achso, auch die Sache mit dem Audi RS4 und dem Mercedes 500E, ja niemand erzählen.

This is from the chapter "I don't know why, but it's running now".
After creating the DB2 database manually, deleting it again, run the Domino DB2 Enablement twice (first with errors, second time without!?), move a user to the SYSADM Group, now the Domino7 DB2 integration is up and running.

Next Step is to take another plain machine, try to reproduce and write down all the necessary steps.

I've installed all (Domino7, all Notes7 clients and DB2 V8.1.5 SES) on my old Thinkpad A20m with 256Mb memory and 10Gig harddrive. I would like to test it on a real performance machine (I have to talk to our Admin...).

By now it feels like going to a Formula One race with a donkey cart.

So. Am Wochenende ist es wieder passiert, genauer gesagt auf einer Geburtstagparty am Samstagabend. Verlust der Muttersprache, Stillstand der Pupillen. Schnaps und Bier sind permutiert einfach nichts für den Onkel. Am Sonntagmorgen aufgestanden und dann gibt es nur ein Hilfsmittel: Ordentlich und kräftig frühstücken mit viel Kaffee, Orangensaft und Wasser. Niemals den Kater pflegen.
Ein wenig gelaufen (Training muss sein), auf das Rad gesetzt, zum Partyausrichter (Premiereabonnent) gestrampelt und Formel 1 geschaut.
Das war endlich wieder mal halbwegs spannend, die zwei Silberpfeile haben sogar das Ziel erreicht, Congratulation.
Herr Montoya hat mal wieder in der Pressekonferenz rumgemosert.
Kleiner Tipp ohne Faktura: Das nächste Mal einfach im Qualifying auf die Pole fahren, dann hat man niemanden vor sich.

The first result while reviewing Notes/Domino 7

An Airplan was taking off. After it reached its cruising altitude, suddenly a loud voice shouted from the intercom:

Today I had a problem updating a Lotus Notes 5 Client to 6.5.1
After the update the client started, showed a nice redbox and 'NSD is running'.

I did a backup of the local databases, uninstalled Lotus Notes removed the directory, cleared the registry and tried a new installation.

Again the client chrashed. I disabled the virusscanner and all unnecessary background programms. The client crashed again.

I did a closer look to that system. This w2k machine had a least 1500 Truetype fonts installed. After the fonts were moved to a backupfolder the client started properly.

In der Nacht zum heutigen Freitag war ein alkoholisierter holländischer Student über ein Baugerüst auf ein Dach in der Waldhornstraße geklettert und darauf herumgeturnt. Anwohner verständigten schließlich die Polizei. Die Beamten fanden den Mann in rund 15 Metern Höhe am äußersten Dachende vor, als er sich plötzlich flach hinlegte und nicht mehr vor oder zurück traute. Die Polizei alarmierte die Feuerwehr, die jedoch aufgrund der örtlichen Gegebenheiten nicht ihre Drehleiter einsetzen konnte.

Deshalb errichtete die Feuerwehr auf einem Vordach ein Sprungkissen. Inzwischen konnten die Helfer in ein Büro des in der Nacht leerstehenden Universitätsgebäudes eindringen. Vom Fenster des Zimmers aus nahmen sie Kontakt zu dem 26-Jährigen auf. Nach einigen Minuten konnten sie den Mann sicher in den Raum ziehen. Der nach Polizeiangaben "offensichtlich wenig an Alkohol gewöhnte Mann" hatte einen Promillewert von 1,6 und kam mit Verdacht auf Alkoholvergiftung in eine Klinik.

IBM/Lotus has a little problem with footer/header since Release 6. First all lines in the footer/header were printed on each other.

Now (Release 6.5) all lines in the footer/header are printed with an extra line.

Lotus/IBM has confirmed this error and has assigned a SPR-Number (AMOR5U2RWA). So maybe Release 6.5.3 works correct.

We have a little official event in the office and need to run Firefox in kiosk mode. Check out this tutorial.
In short:
Simply go in the Mozilla Firefox directory open the chrome folder locate the browser.jar file and extract the browser.xul file. Edit the browser.xul file with an editor of your choice. If you know how XML works just remark the tags for the GUI components you don't want.
My browser.xul is a little more restrictive then the one in the tutorial (no printing at all).

The german Lotus Notes Client 6.5.1 crashes under XP by 'Create New Replica...'
IBM released a 'new' german Lotus Notes Client 6.5.1 (XP) on 30.03.04 which only differs in the release date. This bug is fixed by the 'new' release.

If you use a ND6 admin client to get a console on R5 server don't type "tell router update config". Somehow this is interpreted as "tell router use config" and shared mail will be enabled on this server (config.nsf or mailobj.nsf will be created and Shared_Mail is set to 2). You'll have some fun with mail attachments!
Stop the router task, unlink the object database, delete the object database, set Shared_Mail=0, restart the router task.
